Habitat

Habitat is a music production and performance residency for new-generation artists (15-29 years old) who live and work on the margins in Toronto. This is a platform for musicians to explore and produce a 360-degree expression of their creativity; not just as an EP or performance, but an opportunity to dive deeper into the core of their creative selves. CUE works with musicians to fully create their own HABITAT: an immersive visual and sonic environment that represents not only the origins of their music, but themselves as human beings.

HABITAT is a platform to experiment artistically, free from music industry conventions, and gives musicians the opportunity to share new parts of themselves with audiences. It's a forum to try new things and take risks. Final projects end in an immersive public performance.

Throughout this project, artists work closely with Toronto artist Matthew Progress, lead producer of the HABITAT residency program, and are provided with support, mentorship & collaboration from local arts professionals in creating and installing video and visual art installations.
